  Wonderful infant and toddler programs, very disappointing first few weeks in jr. preschool. We got spoiled by the amazing teachers in the early programs. They always wrote summaries on daily sign-in/out sheets and talked to us about our child's day, they knew exactly whan she had for lunch, what she enjoyed doing that day etc. None of that so far in the jr. preschool. We keep hearing that new teachers are starting soon, any time now, really - for the last several months (well before my child had to transition). The ratio is not 1:6 that we are promised and charged for, it's 1:9 to 1:12, so the transition from a great toddler room with a 1:4 ratio to the far-from-ideal jr. preschool is even harder. My child still asks every morning to go to "her" toddler room and talks about her teachers from toddler program. It just feels like nobody really cares in jr. preschool, and it's the very brief and limited communication between teachers and parents that keeps me concerned. Mornigns are chaos, and kids are with the teachers from the other room after 5.30pm so we barely see their "regular" teachers. Even when we do see them they have nothing to say. Sometimes you really don't even get what you are paying (a lot!) for. We are giving it another 6 weeks in hopes that those newly hired teachers would really start and things would improve but are starting to look for a different center.
